Here at Off Leash K9 Training of Birmingham, we take your dog’s safety and care very seriously. In order to help ensure that you get the very best care and updates on your dog’s stay with us during their 2-week Board and Train, we incorporate a variety of safety measurements and controls. First, management and yourself (as well as anybody you choose to include) are added to a Google Photos album of your dog that is updated daily with photos (guaranteed never to exceed 48 hours even in cases of trainer illness or outstanding circumstances – because we are human too) and videos every 2 to 3 days!
Dogs will be dogs, and while Board and Train issues are far from the norm, we do have protocols in place if things do not go as planned. Should your dog’s appetite decrease during their stay, or they receive the smallest wound, you will be notified immediately via management or the trainer and given an assortment of care options that could include your trainer modifying your dog’s diet to increase calorie content and appetite, first aid, or even veterinary care. Any time your dog leaves the trainer’s home, they are outfitted with a GPS Whistle unit that allows us to keep a detailed record of outings and ensure that there is never a situation where we are unable to show the owner via screenshot exactly where their dog is at any time of the day.
Furthermore, every Board and Train stay comes with a full before and after video that documents your dog’s training journey – from the very first day at pickup (or right after) to the final turnover when you get to work with your transformed dog for the very first time! We know how much you love your dog because we are dog lovers just like you, and promise to treat your 4-legged family member and best friend as if they were our own.

Puppy Training (<5 months)
It's so important that your puppy get started on the right paw! Our wildly popular AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class will give your pup the positive reinforcement they need. We cover topics relating to health, nutrition, vaccines, first aid, and of course all the basic commands a puppy needs to thrive!
Dog Obedience Training
We'll introduce your dog to our e-collar training method. From basic to advanced obedience classes, your dog will learn to love obedience training. And you will know the joy of being able to be outside with your dog off-leash, listening to commands, with our without distractions!
2 Week Board & Train Programs
This 14-day program teaches Advanced Off-Leash Obedience and Behavior Modification. Your dog will live with one of our certified trainers and we'll do all of the work for you! Your dog will go where our trainer goes, and you'll get photo & video updates. Upon completion, we'll spend an additional 2-hours training you how to maintain your dog's obedience at home!
K9 Scent Work Packages
We offer several courses for competition, medical alert, or just for fun! We offer starter packages as well as more advance scent work packages. Your dog will be able to conduct independent searches, acquiring and targeting on just the odor. We also offer board & train, as well as tracking & trailing packages for those interested in sport tracking/trailing or those wanting to be part of a local search & rescue team.
Service Dog, Therapy Dog & ESA Courses
From start to finish, we will help you evaluate your current dog - or help you select the right service dog to meet your needs. We offer Mobility Support and Psychiatric/PTSD Response Service Dog training, and more. We can also prepare your dog for Therapy Dog testing and certification. Or, through our Emotional Support Animal (ESA) program, could simply give you a well-behaved family member able to provide comfort when needed.
In-Home Dog Training
With convenience in mind, we now provide our world-class dog basic or advanced obedience training programs in or around your home! Your dog will receive any of the basic or advanced obedience training packages we offer performed by our certified trainers in and around the convenience of your own home.

Off Leash K9 Training Founder Nick White is a former US Marine and US Secret Service agent. He has trained with some of the best dog trainers in the world. Nick is also the host of A&Es hit show, “America’s Top Dog.”
Nick currently holds a world record in obedience for achieving the longest down from a distance – 350 yards. Nick achieved this during his 5-day private training seminar in Baton Rouge, LA, and the World Record Academy officially recognized it on March 23rd, 2015.
